Valerija But, BSc (Hons), TA Dip, PGDip, MBACP
I am a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist with extensive experience of working in a number of health and community settings. I offer confidential and secure space which will enable us to build and establish a trusting relationship. This space offers an opportunity to talk through your difficulties and concerns openly, identifying problems that stop you from living your life to your full potential. My approach is integrative, collaborative and active in focussing on the issues identified by the client. Approaches I draw from in my work include Person-Centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Coming from an integrative approach means that I can draw from a range of therapeutic approaches. This enables me to engage with you in a way that will be most effective and will best suit your individual needs.
In my practice I respect diversity. I work primarily in English but sessions in Slovenian, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian language are also available. I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and undertake regular supervision as an integral part of my practice.
